Men's Group: The Power of Increasing Self-Awareness

$200.00
sold out

The Power of Increasing Self-Awareness trains the capacity to see oneself in the moment of attachment distress, and to choose differently. Four nights on the internal event between stimulus and response; the pattern each man runs and the problem it once solved, and the practice of intercepting it earlier.  Between what was said and what you did, an internal event occurred β€” fast enough to go unseen. This course is the study of that event. Four nights: raising the resolution on the moment; distinguishing a feeling from the story constructed about it; mapping the protective pattern and the problem it once solved; and intercepting it one step earlier than before.

The explaining, the leaving, the going quiet, the anger β€” each is a strategy, built for a room that once required it, and running now in a room that may not. This course teaches a man to see his own strategy while it’s loading: what fires first, what story the alarm writes, what the strategy protects, and what it costs. The aim is not to stop being activated. It is to catch the activation one rung earlier than last month. What happens in the body and brain when a man feels threatened by someone he loves: attention narrows onto the thing that looks like an attack and drops the thing that was a bid for connection; memory loses the counter-evidence in the moment it is most needed; the body's own analgesics flood, and he can neither feel his love nor read his partner's cues of safety.
