Episode #67: Secure Attachment? Co-Dependency?

Does secure attachment mean spending all your time together and merging into one person? Not at all. In this Secure Love Club session, Julie Menanno draws a clear, freeing line between secure attachment and codependency. Secure attachment, she explains, is two things: partners who are emotionally safe with each other and emotionally close, sharing their authentic selves without losing themselves. Codependency looks like closeness but is actually enmeshment, too much overlap of self, driven by feeling emotionally unsafe both with each other and within. You will learn to tell healthy interdependence from anxious over-merging, why needing your partner is not the same as being codependent, and how to stay connected without disappearing. Clarifying for anyone worried that wanting closeness makes them too needy, or that their bond has tipped into losing who they are. The full teaching is inside for members.
